“O,” She Does It Again!
Oprah Nabs Sex Offender #2
 Another fugitive child molester running from the law was caught…this time in Belize! After seeing photos of sex offenders on The Oprah Show, two viewers in Belize (a country in Central America, bordering the Caribbean Sea, between Guatemala and Mexico) immediately recognized one of the fugitives who was working as a taxi driver in their city. They notified law officials and Niles Scott was arrested and extradited back to Cleveland, Ohio, from where he had fled two years ago, wanted on Rape and Kidnapping charges. Congrats to the two viewers who tipped officials off and are now enjoying a $100,000 reward generously given by Oprah for the capture of each sex offender.
In that same show, Oprah referenced an incredible website, Family Watchdog, where you can search for registered sex offenders living in or around your neighborhood. It’s a great resource that provides maps showing where registered sex offenders live. Unfortunately, this information is not provided for the states of Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Vermont …the only states in the country who do not provide addresses of registered sex offenders. Make sure you visit the Family Watchdog website and do a search of your neighborhood or a loved one’s. And if you happen to be living in one of the three states withholding addresses of registered sex offenders, you can contact your state legislators and request that this policy be changed by visiting the following websites.
